Not that I think it's fair at all to be giving away items that take a lot of effort to obtain, but I do think it's actually a decent attempt by their marketing team. A low cost box that people can buy a lot of with the chance to actually get something useful in game.
I take it that you rarely play/bought these kinds of gamble boxes in other f2p MMO. Its one of the best selling thing in most of them.

It will make the dev/publisher really happy since these kinds of box is a master bait for whales, something that SEA/APAC is largely known to dwell.

However, its also one of THE worst thing viewed as most players, even f2p players. The chances to get the actual item itself is absurdly low, hence the gamble box. You`re pretty much have to buy TONS of these boxes, just like gambling/lottery in real life.

There are better option in monetising a f2p game, this gamble box policy sure makes lots of money but its not for the health of the game itself, nor the community.
I wasn't saying it was good for the game at all but strictly from a money making perspective, their marketing team did a good job at doing that in comparison to the crap they do here
.
Is it really a good idea if no one buys them? Is it really a good idea if your player base dies (without exaggeration btw) and masses of people either quit or change servers? Its lovely in concept and its roots are very firmly attached to the F2P games in the SEA area, but our marketing team has significantly underestimated the desires of our community. Not only that but they've flat out ignored the massive outcry from their players for weeks now. There was a single thread 'acknowledging' (dismissing, but I didn't say that), our concerns and since then not a single word has been said. Phaeris will replace Dathura population wise and it'll cater to the whales, but when the whales have no one to play with then they'll just move on too. I know this has been linked a million times, but this video may shed a different perspective on the ordeal.

I remember a while back in wakfu Asia, premium loots has a chance of stealing quest drops and 100% drop items.
And the relevancy to this topic is? I'd suggest keeping your fear mongering to yourself

I totally agree with the OP. The fact you have to create a new account with Support in order to use it is a giant deterrent. As is the fact that theres no direct way to contact someone in-game to deal with the issue. I know on APAC they atleast have a team of GMs to do such things. +1 to making the reporting process a lot easier and more clear.

you should probably go mind your own business, dont you have some wins to pay for?

people here are worried that the player base we had for years will be completely replaced with zhaos and we would lose the exclusiveness of chillness.

also i've been reading wapac forums regularily since the server was set up, its cool and stuff, has its own mood and pace, and thats one of the reasons why it differs from our cozy p2p servers, which are about to be turned upside down with our understanding of world-of-twelves' reality.
Couldn't agree more, dude. ;_; This's exactly what I'm fearing.

I met this screenshot from WAPAC randomly, just look at the sweet fp2 model that some people are excited about.

Yeah, it shows you how much xp/loot you're missing by not paying the sub. Seeing relic fragments here hurts a bit, doesn't it?

I'd prefer to keep paying my subs, if there's going to be such an option.
You're in luck! We have this thing called Premium that is almsot the exact same cost as a sub and guarentees no item loses. Its like nothing even changed at all, except you'll get a lot mroe people to play!

and yes, for completion: since there aready is a p2w server and everyone is free to migrate there, still we had our p2p servers. bscly we had the right to choose what is good for every each of our players, whether we would pay for this or for that. now we are forced to change, and when a person is forced to do something - it resists by default until it in one or another way accepts it, thats just psychology.

i know, there are whole guilds that moved to wapac and they are even doing well there, but there also guilds that are going to be fallen apart due to such changes, which would be a critical hit to the way things are right now, and thats what would hurt even such dedicated and allforgiving players like myself, willing to pay whatever ankama would ask while its below five hundred bucks a month.

after all, i cant imagine anyone going 'hey dudeman, i found a cool game where you can pay to win! you should try that!', thats the part i would actually love to discuss - how does a p2w player present the game he plays to his friends?
Point to me EXACTLY where the current Wakfu F2P model is pay to win?

I think the timing is pretty coincidental with WAPAC. If it were to do with us then why haven't we got them on our forums?

If you're tyring to connect to wakfu asia, it looks like mistake. It's trying to connect to 49.128.11.117, the beta server, instead of 49.128.11.116 . Switching it to 116 just says I don't have the latest version. Looks bugged.
Why on earth would they be connecting to Wakfu Asia when they're on these forums?

Thank you for any information.

Hi all,

Sabi should be receiving assistance in the near future to help manage the International community. She is even keeping us aloof about who it may be or when they will arrive. Furthermore, the major restriction keeping us from doing more than just logging in to seek & destroy gathering bots is our GM abilities. The idea is that we will be receiving augmentations to them soon in order to better facilitate our roles as event coordinators and roleplayers, and be able to take a better initiative to improve our in-game presence.

That all said, I cannot give an ETA on any of this news. We truly apologize for how long it is taking but I hope you will all believe me when I say that we have to wait just as patiently as you guys do for the things that the ICT wants or needs.

- Moon
They're still advertising on the Ankama website for a CM for Wakfu and Izma herself said about a week ago that they're recruiting for a Wakfu CM. Just seems no one's very interested/made the cut yet. From memory they've been looking for about 2 months.

I don't want to keep bringing up WAPAC, but it's the only example of Wakfu F2P I can share. There is never a shortage of players. There are bots on occasion but they don't seem to be over throwing the server because I hardly notice them. I see a couple gold sellers in the trade channel at outposts every now and then, but it's not bad. The amount of players running around in Dynast costumes tells that people are buying from the boutique, and I see a good number of premium players too.

I wonder just how long that'll last...
Longer than it has for these servers.

Hi,

Can i exchante ogrines for kamas ingame ?
There is no official currency exchange like that in-game. As Celay said your best bet is to purchase items with Ogrines and sell those items for kamas on the in-game auction house.

The thought honestly hadn't crossed my mind until just now so I doubt it has crossed ankamas minds either.
Are you trying to imply that a team of like 30 people including mathematicians are all less smart than you, one person?

If you mean Vicinity, are you sure there's someone close by? If yes, is that person talking in vicinity chat? o.o?

Any public chat.
Vicinity, recruitment, trade. No shit Sherlock, obviously there's someone nearby, not like I'm a vicinity loner or something like that. It's just that everybody's public chats work fine, except that nobody else can read yours.

And it's common sense; if you write in vicinity, people will answer in vicinity, even though you're in the same guild/group.
Maybe you got muted lol
