with current gear you can what, go 13/5?
Or 10/8

But who knows, what items they might add in the future. Level 200 Relics with 3Ap?

so I see that there will no new classes added to spell deck system this week on beta

that is pretty disappointing. How they want to release that in June with 10 classes more to test when May is almost over?

the friday update hasn't flowed yet.
Update news are published piece by piece at the french forum.
We'll get all classes but Ecaflip, Feca and Sacrieur this update

I wonder if we'll get more to unlock at higher levels – not more slots, but more toys to play with, e.g. three more elemental spells at 150, giving (at least) 6 per branch.
I think atm you'll unlock the second level of the passives above 100 and that's it.

What if Ankama just lets players choose which active they unlock at level 1 and level 20 etc? That way anyone wanting a certain combo can choose both actives quickly?
That would be great. Also to decide, when to get an passive and when to level it up, should be possible in a way.

That's the first problem indeed. The second problem is that your active skills get unlocked in a (very slow) hardcoded sequence now - as in, every 1st level Enutrof starts with Mine Mover. Then eventually unlocks Dhreller, then Dhrellzerker, etc.

You can't start as an Enutrof with a Dhreller instead of Mine Mover for instance.

On the live server, things also unlocked from left to right, but they would all be unlocked to dump points into at level 10, allowing you to immediately start playing the class in a way you'd like. On the Beta, my 2nd active was still blocked at level 15 or so. God knows when all 5/6 active utilities are unlocked. I used one of those scrolls taking me into the lvl 60 range, upon which all choices were unlocked (not all passives though).
The one passive for zerkers that makes you kind of a tank, even unlocks after 70.

Summoning a dhreller costs 1WP, going zerker 4AP. both at level 1. so you could do this, starting from lvl3 and would even have 5mp to spend afterwards. At level 10 you could have zerking lvl 6 and would only need 2AP.
Yeah i wasnt looking, its 5 ap at level 1 though and furzerker is only 5 per movement instead of 35, a difference of 30% damage per mp used. This means you spend 1wp(considered 7 damage @1) and 5 ap to gain a slight buff to a select set of skills. By all accounts using dhrellzerker at low levels is almost nerfing yourself and i applaud ankama for leading players away from self destructive play styles. I see enough "Play how you want" people who barely understand the class already.

5ap at lvl 0, 4 at lvl 1. Kill the first cat you meet in astrub any way you want and you level up to 3.

Beneath the movement bonus, you also have a higher base damage as zerker. While it might be senseless earlier, starting from level 10 it absolutely makes a difference, if your fight lasts more than one round.

With summoning a drheller and zerking, there isn't even any scaling for those skills in the new system. You always have to pay 2mp for the first and 2 ap for the second. No finetuning via passives. It's a bit sad, that ankama introduced finetuning with the attributes not that long ago and now takes most of the finetuning at the skills.

Does anyone really feel its completely unreasonable to have your Dhreller and Dhrellzerker ability available as a choice to add to your 6-7 slots deck around level 10? That's really all I want - I can't argue with anyone whom feels such luxuries should be prevented until way later of course.
The issue is these spells are no longer level 0, they are the effective max level with low costs. What you are asking for is to have two maxed actives at level 10. By the current numbers there's no way a 6 ap 3 mp enu can summon a dhreller and go dhrellzerker at level 10 due to the natural high cost of both being unleveled. the point where both are at level 9 and have moderate AP/MP costs is level 40, a level where by the new system you WILL have both and can use them.

The biggest issue in your argument is you want to compare level 0 actives to level 9 actives. The difference is night and day.

Summoning a dhreller costs 1WP, going zerker 4AP. both at level 1. so you could do this, starting from lvl3 and would even have 5mp to spend afterwards. At level 10 you could have zerking lvl 6 and would only need 2AP.

Did some math.
Spells level 200. Bonus would be way higher, but I took, what I approximatly have by now.

old
+900% earth dmg -> base + bonus = 1000%
18 mp base
+2 mp for prime of life
+2 mp for not dead yet (max 4, but with a chance of 0.4, rounded up, so I took 2)
Moving 5 fields = +150% bonus
Standing on a gold mine = +30% bonus
zerker = higher base damage
spells = killer spade, deadly nightspade, shady shovel

new
+900% earth dmg -> base + bonus = 1000%
18 mp base
+2 mp for prime of life
moving 5 fields = +15% final damage bonus
standing on a gold mine = + 10% final damage
zerker = +20% final damage
calling dhreller an zerking in round 1 costs 4mp
spells = killer spade, deadly nightspade

old, 22 mp, starting on a gold mine = 5345 dmg
old, 22 mp, moving 5 fields to a gold mine = 4850 dmg

new, 20mp, starting on a gold mine, zerking = 5408 dmg
new, 20mp, moving 5 fields to a gold mine, zerking = 3842 dmg
new, 20mp, standing on a gold mine (round 2, no zerking) = 6604 dmg
new, 20mp, moving 5 fields to a gold mine (round 2, no zerking) = 5872 dmg

I didn't add the bonus for treasure tracker, as I did not exactly know, how many +dmg% you will get with the new system per spell. but it will be similar. And of course it's an ideal area with gold mines, exactly where you need them

So in the starting turn, when you have to zerk and to move, you'll do way less dmg in the new version.
From turn 2, depending on how much you have to move, you'll do simiar damage.
If you don't have to move, you'll do way more dmg.

So, ideally you keep standing on a gold mine from turn 2 and keep spamming combos of killer spade and deadly night spade.

Don't know, if there are methods to regain mp in zerker mode, but if I've read it right, prime of life will give, after it's again changed on friday, in both modes 2mp for 2ap.

Edit: actually I didn't notice the new bonus of "Not dead yet". Primo of life will give you 2mp for 1wp then, so, you'll do another bit more dmg in the new version. Corrected the values

Seems that playing as zerker will be a bit more boring after those changes. If I read it correctly, the earth spells have no further effects while in zerker mode. Therefore I will only be spamming Killer spade for the entire fight as it has the best dmg/mp ratio. And maybe shaker, if the enemies happen to be standing in line.

Not beeing able to change the range in zerker is a pain too. I have a modifier of +4 and will have to walk all the way to my enemies again. At least the earth damage is higher for most of the spells in the new version.

he's not leveling cook... painful enough
leveling cook... painful
cook... painful
cook.... pain.

I also need 4.2k pieces of salt.

The feeling is just heartbreaking.

Waiting for the crafting bonus experience here.
Yeah, I did the salty part of cook with a complete miner bonus equipment + seal at a bonus weekend and it still was a pain.

There is no clustered area in the nations for salt, like there is for iron or coal in the starting areas. There is, at least in amakna (but most probably in the other nations too) an area along the coast in the starting area, where the next node is at least in sight. Not at fast as in the pits for iron or coal, but the first node should be respawned, when you finished the round. Given nobody else ist gathering salt. But who needs it anyway, if he's not leveling cook, which is painful enough to scare most people away

The only places that currently have actual mercenary quests, to my knowledge, are Astrub (city & sewers), the zones of each nation, Kelba, and the divine dimensions.
Only Xelorium from the Dimensions. No mercenary quests fpr Srambad or Enurado. What is a shame as it would be another bunch of fast xp.

Honestly I don't understand why it's not a quest item to begin with. Like we needed yet another item that has to be carried around in this game of ultra limited storage space.

Yes, making it as a quest item is good too.
Yes. No more forgetting to equip another ring when you start fighting another mob after farming

Did amara get this event this time realy?

Why, we got 4 days of crafting bonus instead of 2 for the last failure.
I won't be mad, if we got another 4 days a week later for this event.
I need time to gather all mats to finish my last job, the cook.

Amara was mentioned in the first post as one of the servers that should benefit of the event.

It's really sad, as I planned max out one of my professions. Played another game instead.

In regard to the 'Magmog' skin, we haven't forgotten about it! I cannot announce when this skin is coming, but it is coming... soon.
Well, then I might buy one ... soon.

Not earlier, as the only available skin for me is ugly.

I like the hero feature, even if it will cost something. Booster prices are low as they are now. Prices for sidekicks are also not that high. How much could a hero slot cost then? If you are working and have the money you should not even have to think that long about the cost.

I came to the wakfu beta with the feeling of playing something similar to fft or disgaea. So the step to building your own team or at least half of it with one account is a great step.

I have 4 accounts and like to reduce the number of running clients to two. Then I can finally use the the second screen for something else again
I can even arrange myself with abandoning the effort I did on the 2 accounts I might stop actively playing. Leveling alts to the same level is easy nowadays with x2 or x3 XP.

I think that the culture and community will not be changed much more than it was right from the beginning of the game. In the beta and in the first half year after wakfu leaving the beta stage (which it never really did, i know...) I played only one account. But many things were wasted time then. You had to wait 10 seconds until you had chopped a tree. About 7 seconds wasted. There was only one other person online in your guild for the dungeon you wanted to run, and your sever is Amara. About half an evening wasted. Just 2 examples.
Multiboxing was the way out of this. I know many people that started multiboxing very early on. Heroes are just a positive evolution of it.
Other people already played sidekicks for about a year. If those people started playing heroes, you would not see a difference.

I do like playing with other people. But wakfu's round based combat is not really supporting playing with other people. If you are only playing one character in a dungeon run, then you might have to wait 5 minutes until it's your turn again. I knew people that regularly fell asleep at dungeons Or missing their turn because they were doing something else in the waiting time.

The hero system will be a bless. If you wanted to strengthen the social aspect of the game, there would be other aspects that should be improved.

(all this rant is not directed at someone in special, but maybe the thread title...)
