In progress, I have a general idea but I need to develop it.
Lodays wear simple leather clothing with a light metal chest plate. Their hair is generally short and orange. They're about average size and a little bit skinny. (Will develop later.)
Role: Mid-range Melee Fighter.
Strike Power: Medium-low. Lodays are fairly weak for a melee class. Although being a Fire Loday can give you some powerful spells.
Flexibility: Medium-high. Lodays are adept at hitting enemies that aren't right next to them. They also have some good AoE and long range attacks, allowing them to adapt to their party.
Cooperation: Medium-low. Lodays are essentially a melee class. They don't have that much that can help out allies although they can act as tanks.
Place In Combat: Front or second line. Place a Loday in the front line if you want them to act as tanks or take on multiple enemies with their AoE attacks. Second line Loday can make better use of their mid and long-range attacks but aren't as good at protecting allies.
Suitable Targets: Slow foes that can't close in on the Loday.
Unsuitable Targets: Fast foes who can attack the Loday close-up and then run away. Enemies with high defense.
-Throw spears past your friends, not at them.
-Your spears can also be used for fishing!
Spear: Spears can hit two squares in any direction instead of one like a normal melee weapon. If there's an enemy on both squares, the enemy behind will take half damage.
The Fire branch has the Loday's most powerful spells but lacks attacks for hitting multiple enemies or hitting far enemies.
1: Needle Stab: "Enemies, now useful as pin cushions as well!" Stab three times with your spear. Acts like three normal attacks. AP: 4.
2: Bloodied Stab: "A stab designed for inflicting extreme pain on an enemy." Grabs the spear near the point and stabs an enemy. RA: 1 square adjacent. Damage: -4 HP, 50% chance of causing Bleeding on target. Critical: 6 HP, casts Bleeding on target. AP: 4
3: Buzz Saw: "Not to actually be used for cutting down trees." Spins the spear in a circle parallel with the Loday's body. RA: Target on self, hits 1 square in front and 1 square behind. Damage: -3 HP. Critical: 5 damage, 25% chance of casting Bleeding on target. AP: 3
4: Charge: "Charging is a valid tactic in any encounter. Unless someone is pointing a pointy thing at you." RA: 3 squares in front of Loday. When a square is selected, the Loday will charge to that square, hurting any enemies on the way. Damage: -2 HP. Critical: -4 HP. AP: 3.
5: Vengeful Spear: "Get revenge on that guy who bullied you in 3rd grade with this move." RA: 1 square adjacent to the Loday. Damage: -3 HP. If you took damage since your last turn, it deals 6 damage instead. Critical: -5 HP. If you took damage since your last turn, it deals 10 damage instead. AP: 5. WP: 1.
The Earth branch has most of the Loday's spells for hitting multiple enemies. Also has a bunch of moves for pushing enemies.
1: Long Thrust: "Just pretend you're fencing..." Lunges with the spear. Acts like a normal attack, but hits 4 squares instead of 2. AP: 4.
2: Helicopter: "In only this move could actually make you fly." Spins spear above head. RA: Target self, hits all enemies adjacent to the Loday. Damage: -3 HP. Pushes anything hit back one space. Critical: -4 HP. Pushes anything hit back 2 spaces. AP: 3. At lv. 25, its range is extended by one square in every direction.
3: Whack: "A rather silly attack, but not to be underestimated." Slaps the opponent with the butt of the spear. RA: 1 square adjacent to Loday. Damage: -2 HP. Pushes back target by 2 squares. Critical: -4 HP. Pushes target back by 2 squares. AP: 2.
4: Reel In: "A technique invented by a Loday who tried (and failed) to become a fisherman." Thrusts with spear and pulls the enemy towards you. RA: 2 squares away from you, cannot be used on anything adjacent. Requires line of sight. Damage: -2 HP. Pulls target adjacent to you. Critical: -4 HP. Pulls target adjacent to you. AP: 2.
5: Giant Swing: "Originally used in breakdancing, this skill soon became a Loday mainstay." Swings spear in a huge circle above the Loday's head. RA: Targets self, hits all enemies and allies up to 4 squares away from you. Does not hit adjacent enemies or allies. Damage: -3 HP. Critical: -5 HP. AP: 4. WP: 1.
The Wind branch contains the Lodays' long-range move.
1: Harpoon: "Remember, whale hunting is not nice." Ties a rope around the spear and throws it, then pulls it back. RA: 1 square up to 5 spaces away in a straight line. Can't hit adjacent enemies. Damage: -4 HP. Critical: -5 HP. AP: 3.
2: Pebble: "Although it may be a little pathetic, throwing rocks is a adequate strategy." Picks a pebble off the ground and throws it. RA: 1 square up to 4 spaces away, requires line of sight. Damage: -3 HP. Critical: -4 HP. AP: 2.
3: Spear of Air: "Is it magic?" Or just fast spear-throwing?" Forms a spear out of air and throws it. RA: 1 square up to 4 spaces away in a straight line, does not require line of sight. Damage: -4 HP. Critical: -5 HP. AP: 4.
4: Needle Drop: "Lodays don't just use spears, any pointy thing is their best friend." Jumps into the air and throws a needle downwards. RA: 1 square up to 5 spaces away, requires line of sight. Damage: -3 HP. Critical: -6 HP, 50% chance of casting Bleeding on target. This attack has a heightened chance of a critical. AP: 4.
5: Rain of Spears: "Where do all those spears come from anyway?" Loday swings hand and a bunch of spears fall from the sky. RA: 1 square up to 3 spaces away, requires line of sight. Has an AoE that hits one square around target. Damage: -5 HP. Critical: -7 HP. AP: 5.
Lv. 2: Loday's Might: Self-buff. RA: Self. Effect: -1 MP, +1 AP, defense is increased. Lasts for 2 turns. Critical: +2 AP, defense is increased. Lasts for 3 turns. Cannot be used for 2 turns after it ends. AP: 4. WP: 1
