Araknomecha What this pet do on highest lvl?

posté December 30, 2013, 10:50:09 | #2
I haven't actually tried it myself as mine are all level 1 and completely useless, but I'd assume it works like...
When you get hit, there's a 20% chance the attacker and anyone adjacent to it suffers from fire damage.
I recall it also affecting allies if they're next to the attacker? Could be wrong though.

Mini-edit~ It also gives 50HP.

How do you get it?

By doing the harebourgh island quests, i think you needed to do all environmental quests and finish the dungeon within 30 minutes.

They're modifiable.

It's a crap pet. Last time I remember using it was many months ago against a noob with makafire on as well to see if he could kill himself before I died. No use other than to look pretty.

posté December 30, 2013, 21:22:47 | #8
Well, if it's modifiable and you're a Fire user. You then have a 20% chance to remove (said HP) when you have (said Fire Mastery):

300% Fire Mastery: -60 HP
400% Fire Mastery: -75 HP
500% Fire Mastery: -90 HP

Now add a Makabrafire Ring to that for added reflects on top and you've got some fun defense against melee attackers. Granted you need to be a Fire Element user for the Araknomecha to even work though.

I have a lvl 8 one, I keep leveling it maybe someday they'll modify it and it'll be useful. Even for a fire user, I don't see it being much use at all right now.

Well, I may not use a Fire Fogger, but I'm sure there are some out there that miss the old Fire and Oil specialty passive. Did pretty much the same thing (but more damage and left silly puddles of oil). So this is a way to kind of still have the passive.

It of course is more gimmicky than useful, but doesn't mean it cannot help. Say you're a Fire user of any kind, though preferably a close range one, you will be dealing bonus damage 1/5 of the times you are hit back to the enemy, that with the added Makabrafire's reflect damage, it can add up, especially in a long fight. Of course if you're long range, like a Cra, it is more of a self defense mechanism and won't trigger as often as hopefully you're staying away at range like a good Cra.

Huh... was about to argue, but then I checked. Didn't realize that my Sadida was the only class of all 15 classes that does not have a Fire Tree... Was certain too that there was at least one other....

Ignoring the AoE aspect, on average you'd be adding 3 base damage to your fire rotation a turn. This is assuming you get hit once every turn. Multiply this by the number of times you plan to get hit. It may have some use for a fire tank against a spell spammer where added defense isn't desired

This is almost as bad as that time when Tofus were exclusively useless for Water Enis. Woe is Eni.

It's sort of cool for Fire Sacrier. Recoil damage used to be able to trigger the effect.

FYI, araknomecha is heavily bugged (what a surprise...). It triggers when team members use their attacks against mobs (any range). I've been equipping it on one of alts just to get it to 50lvl. I don't remember if it ever triggered correctly. For cc char this bug may even be useful...
Very ankamish - a useless feature that becomes slightly less usless thanks to the bug.

So they also hate Xelors, because there's an earth damage pet, but Xelors don't have an earth branch... Opression!

Fun fact: not all pets are suitable for all classes. And this game isn't called Sadidafu for a reason.

No, this pet is completely useless. Even at 700% fire damage, it would only hit 120 damage on 0% resistance.(A more realistic number would be 500% on 150% resists which would do 68 damage) That + a 20% proc rate(never procs for those who don't know what that means) makes it crap. Any damage pet in the game beats it. Not worth the hassle it takes to get it.

this pet, though i have one and am levelling it slowly, always struck me as only useful for a fire sac, but even a scarafly is better.
