Cheating by alt voting This shouldn't be allowed. Somehow a member of a guild has gotten over 80 votes in just a few hours for governor whilst not having the support of many big guilds. I suspect that alt voting has occurred. This shouldn't be allowed.

If some are willing to give other people in the world a chance I'm perfectly fine with pooling The Borgs previously untapped resources. Hit me up.

What about alt voting for a statue? That's pretty unfair. What if somebody alt voted and replaced the Borg statue?

I'm afraid nothing will be done about alt-voting, unless a large enough group of players are behind it. But before you continue on with the tread seriously ask yourself how the total amount of votes in this election differ from the totals of other elections. The answer is they don't.

I completely agree that something should be done about alt-voting, but I do not believe something will be done about it unless we get enough people to back the idea in a more organized manner.

As for the statues... Suck it up? [Text Removed - Atdose] It's definitely not the end of the world here. You have nothing, but time on your side.

So yes! I'd love to stand beside you in your fight against alt-voting. I think it will definitely stop troll governors in their tracks. People that REALLY have the majority of support could be in office.

One vote per nation per account seems fair to me. But before Ankama goes and makes that change, I'd rather they give some helpful powers to government, like being able to buy seeds or something. :/
Right now a governor has many, many more tools for causing misery than he does for doing good. That just ain't right.

As Madd said previously, we in The Borg have votes. I can't remember the last time I used any of my votes.—Tulish

If I might chime in. I have been gov in the past a few times, and I have noticed that up and down votes usually come in very slowly during the week (most people that vote usually do not up or down vote after the election is finished and if they do they usually do not up or down vote right away). It is usually a cause for alarm if they instantly get up-voted by like 70 votes in the middle of the night shortly after winning the election.

I feel every election has a certain level of alt voting going on in all nations. Some elections it comes off that there is some abuse, and others it comes off as there is a lot of abuse. However, I do not think it is against terms of service for them to vote themselves in.

Alt-voting is alt-voting. It doesn't matter if you use 3,4,5, or 30 alts. It's all alt-voting! [Text Edited - Atdose]

So by your logic, getting 1 extra vote via alt voting is no different than 1 person giving them 100 alt votes and that is in no way any kind of abuse. [Text Edited - Atdose]

So should we do something to multi-boxers as well? They use entire teams and can literally get all of the drops. Can be used to sell, use, whatever. Is that abuse?

If I steal a candy bar, will they let me go? What if I steal 100 candy bars!

I told you that I would stand by you against alt-voting. I understand u completely & I do feel for you, but there is nothing you can do. It is not against the rules.

I hope with the government revamp that you can only vote once per nation per account. This wouldn't stop multi-accounters unfortunately because voting once per IP would be difficult and cause complications, but it would make things a lot more fair.

You're still saying it's okay to alt-vote with 2 to 3 accounts. That can add up, & I think there's little difference.

The problem isn't because someone alt-voted more than someone else, but alt-voting in general.

I propose we do an experiment. We vote for someone with as many players as possible, but do it WITHOUT alt-voting, and see how many votes they get.

Wakfu Elements can track markets. They can get a rough idea of individual character names. Not account names of course, but this could get a closer number. Then just go to the nation board and do the math. The % of the population is listed afterall.

Name shaming is of course against the rules of this forum however a discussion about alt-voting itself is certainly not. I encourage all participants in this thread to continue however please note that continuing to name shame will result in the thread being closed. I also request that you do not specify any server as alt-voting is a game wide issue. This will reduce the risk of server specific flaming.

If your post has been removed or edited and you would like a further explanation as to why, please feel free to Ankabox me and I will advise the reason for your posts removal or edit.

I'm perpetually confused by your understanding of things. Additionally, everyone knows how I feel about the way the current statues were put there so we don't need to go there. I can't support your point because I don't believe in the validity of your side and it just sounds hypocritical when you accuse someone else of the same thing.

As far as alt voting goes, the previous governor asked for it by putting "Everyone vote for me every alt, we need to not just win but crush the opposition." by doing so you played your entire hand, everything was laid out on the table and you made it obvious what was needed to beat that.

As a final note, I would also like to point out I believe their guild is bigger than HoN, Shu and LL put together....

---------------------------------------

In response to Fluer, I don't believe 'one alt vote is the same as one-hundred.' There is a big difference between stealing $1 and stealing $100,000. It is treated very differently in court and by the law in general. I believe alt voting is the same, but I also believe that it is 'wrong' regardless. Unfortunately, much like real politics, everyone cheats to win.
